Flink Forward San Francisco Preview (part 6 of 6): Technology deep-dive
Get ready for Flink Forward San Francisco next week! On April 10, Apache Flink users, core committers, and those new to Flink will gather to share stories and use cases. If you haven’t registered by now, make sure to sign up by April 6!
This post highlights the technology deep-dive sessions.
- Steven Wu will share the process of migrating the stream processing platform at Netflix from Apache Samza to Apache Flink. He’ll also talk about the challenges and issues their team encountered when running Flink at scale in the Cloud.
- Feng Wang from Alibaba will introduce optimizations in Blink, used for various applications such as credit-based network stack, dynamic load balance, and improved checkpointing for large scale jobs that have also been implemented in Flink.
- Stefan Richter from data Artisans will walk through some of the techniques behind building a modern stream processor such as Apache Flink. He’ll focus on the evolution of fault tolerance in stream processing, Flink’s approach towards distributed asynchronous snapshots, fast recovery, rescaling, and high throughput.
